St. Ayamaria General Hospital

Post by Demi on Sun Dec 30, 2012 11:18 pm

St. Ayamaria General Hospital

"Named in the honor of the most proficient Healer in all of Speran History, Saint Cynthia Ayamaria. May her blessings live on within us all."

The St. Ayamaria General Hospital chain is a series of large hospital complexes, named after the famous healer. The motto of the hospital is "One For All", reflecting St. Ayamaria's belief of never turning down anyone from treatment; no matter the race or species. From Spera to the Deadlands, none were rejected by this woman's kind and giving nature. Her legacy lives on in the form of an immortalized statue in front of each building.

The St. Ayamaria General Hospital is a place for all injured characters to come to receive treatment. Whenever a character is injured in their RPs or through the result of something, they will be required to attend a Hospital visit. During this time, they are unable to post any in active RPs until their injury heals up.

As this is a general hospital, there are many types of rooms that are available for the process of treating a character. Those who come to receive treatment must post how many times their character has posted, currently, in the hospital. Once they reach the correct amount of points, they will be capable of leaving.

To be considered a successful post, a registered Medic must be within the Hospital, helping. To gain medical abilities and a medical license, you must gain said abilities and visit the Senate Building of your character's origin (if they are from Polso, they will be from Eastern Spera - thus, the Eastern Speran Senate Building is where they must go).

When you post inside of the hospital, you must post at least one paragraph of your character actively resting up from their injuries. Reflections on their actions, or even things such as dreaming, can help with your character. There are many types of injuries.
Spoiler:
Open Wounds
Picture reference for all major open wounds.

    Name: Abrasion
    Type: Injury, Open Wound, Abrasion
    Ranking: Minor 2 - Moderate 2
Description: In dermatology, an abrasion is a wound caused by superficial damage to the skin, no deeper than the epidermis. It is less severe than a laceration, and bleeding, if present, is minimal. Mild abrasions, also known as grazes or scrapes, do not scar or bleed, but deep abrasions may lead to the formation of scar tissue.
Effect: User will feel a slight stinging in abrasion area. They will be unable to move or touch it without feeling sharp pain.

    Name: Incision
    Type: Injury, Open Wound, Incision
    Ranking: Minor 1 - Major 1
Description: A slight cut, usually no farther than the epidermis. Bleeding almost always occurs. The size of the cut is directly proportionate to how much blood will be spilled, as well as how severe it is.
Effect: User will feel a slight stinging in incised area. They will be unable to move or touch it without feeling sharp pain. Attempting to do so may result in heavier bleeding or advancing into a laceration.

    Name: Laceration

    Ranking: Minor 2 - Major 3
Description: A wound caused by an object puncturing the skin, such as a nail or needle.

Attempting to do so may result in heavier bleeding and risk infection. Attempting to do so with the puncture object still in the area will result in tissue/nerve damage.

    Name: Avulsion
    Type: Injury, Open Wound, Avulsion
    Ranking: Major 1 - Severe 3
Description: An injury which involves a chunk of the skin being removed. This type of injury often involves shrapnel from an explosion; the speed of the flying fragments can literally tear a portion of the skin off.

Injury Intensifiers
These conditions intensify the strength of the injury. It raises it by a certain amount of levels, and increases the amount of posts needed.
  • Nerve Damage: +3 Levels
  • Tissue Damage: +2 Levels
  • Infection: +4 Levels

Death Chance
A death chance is the most serious of injuries. It embodies the chance that your character may die while in the hospital. Anything beyond Severe 3 - Life Threatening 3 will have a Death Chance if strenuous activity is performed. Terminal injury will always have a Death Chance. Dice are rolled three times, and if the three outcomes are equal to or below the amount, they will die.
