If pain was everlasting, Snow would most definitely be a prime candidate for it, now. Fixed with the complete package of negative emotions: anger, exasperation, along with a lingering sense of paranoia - she felt as if her being would be overwhelmed in itself. Frankly, if she had to guess, all of this would culminate into something far more sinister down the road.

It wasn't as if she didn't have any justification at the moment. No, it had nothing to do with her history. Long since has the brunette gotten over the shocking death of her parents. Frankly, it would be foolish to believe that she was still in agony over something that happened so long ago. She was a 21 year-old gunfighter, who had a lot more things to worry about than some as unfortunate as her parent's murder when she was 10. That pain was a numb feeling at the back of her head, desensitized from years of venting through her own murders.

No, today, she was incensed over the poor choices of the current Leaders of Spera. The powers that be have obviously decided that peace was too overrated, and shaking things up will increase Speran power. Right; like that could be any farther from the truth.

In all honesty, Gaustion's terrible judgement at the announcement, which culminated in the assaulting and capture of a terrorist, was a fiasco waiting to happen. Never mind her own ordeals, the nation was about to experience a shake-up of their own. She, however, would be caught in the middle - probably forced to fight a war she didn't want any part of. Immigration to another place in the world was impossible, especially the now besieged Deadlands.

Or, were they even in operation yet?

Whatever the case, Snow would be mulling over this as she dashed past Hyuren Village, briskly walking through the forest northwest of her mansion. The affluent woman was completely and totally calm as she made her way through the dense tree groves, wind blowing past her as it picked up. She was nearing the waters, so it was only natural that the breeze would carry with it the scent of salt and refreshing brisk. A good alternative for calming down than a possible massacre.

Then again, that didn't sound too bad right about now, either.

Walking from a dirt path, Snow began to leap from stone to stone; landing down in front of a large tree. Holding out her hands, the woman looked around the area. She'd traveled into a small impress into the ground, coming down into a ridge.

In the ridge were small creatures, all running at the arrival of the brunette. Snow smirked a bit. Good, at least something could recognize the possible threat she could pose to them. Many just decided that they would attempt to attack her. Often, this lead to disaster for them. Then again, many of those were sapiens. Attacking any other creature like that would've been quite... disastrous for her.

The forces of nature had bested her, before; in the form of an angered and hungry Cerberus Pup, attempting to attack her. The mighty islands were home to some quite fearsome adversaries, both sapient and otherwise. She'd known - she fought many, before. She'd faced almost anything, just short of a Dragon or Basilisk. God forbid if she'd ever come face to face with those behemoths. In the files she read, Snow could only feel afraid for her life.

Taking her steps into the ridge clearing, she steeled her nerves. If anything would come at her, which she was almost assured it would, she would be ready. Ready for battle. Ready to kill. That seemed to be her brain's first mode of action - a bloodthirsty reaction to anything that would pose even the slightest danger to her. With dual pistols on her hips and the sharp mind of a warrior, she was not feeling anything less than cautious.

That's all she could feel, these days. Maybe that was why men didn't approach her. She would state that she didn't care about it... but, those would be bold-faced lies. Frankly, a little male company wasn't too bad in her mind. Sex was something she'd been deprived of, really - save for the few and far between times she'd simply enjoy herself with the lights dimmed and hands roaming her essence, naked and prone under the thin sheets of her King-sized bed. The sounds she would make then wouldn't compare to any male member bringing her to ecstasy, but that was the price to pay for being what many called her... a 'frigid bitch'.

In her state of thinking, the woman found herself on auto-pilot, walking towards a small circle of bushes. Walking through them, cautious almost completely to the wind in her trance, the woman stepped upon the gravel that was on the ground. The sudden change in the sound of her steps alerted her baser senses, bringing her back to earth.

Looking down, the woman could see the small pieces of rock on the ground. "Gravel?" she whispered to herself, bending down to lift a pebble. Loose gravel, at that. Holding it to her eyes, she began to check the texture. It was capable of being crushed.

So... burned, as well? Or at least, its material structure had been altered to change its density or hardness. This was not done naturally. This would mean that something was amiss, and that one of two things were true.

She'd stepped into the territory of a creature, or into the territory of a magic user.

The young woman made to steel her nerves even further. With the sudden realization firm in her mind, she knew that she would have to tread lightly from here on out. Frankly, the thought of anyone attempting to find or capture her would be frightening. Nary a day went by that Snow didn't fear for her life - as one of the primary technological geniuses of Spera, she knew she could be a target for those who got a little too big for their britches. Or, maybe she was being a bit narcissistic...

She loved to believe the latter. Her guard was almost never down, only falling during those times of tranquility and torrid self-indulgence. Otherwise, she would always have a weapon by her side. Her pistols were the first things to come to mind, actually. The brunette loved her firearms, and her capability with them was almost ceaseless in her eyes. Yes, she had great skill in her marksmanship. In fact, she loved the capabilities she had with them.

The awe that she induced in people was all but the last thing on her mind. Snow was on a path of self-gratification in the sense of her worth. Nothing else mattered more than her own perception of her being.

Granted, that did not surface in her mind now. Not while she tip-toed lightly, surveying the area in a wide arc. She didn't have Miharu or Erebus, her two most trusted companions, to watch her back. She was never one for sentiments. Really, it was a waste of time. Then again, while they would be useful for surveillance - and company, though she wouldn't admit that out loud - they had their own problems in their homes to deal with. That was how it was after a big, government meeting.

And, after one so disastrous; they would need to be on guard.

"Well Snow, you always said you liked it better alone..." so... why were things so hard to take if that were true?

Maybe she would see a therapist after this was all over.
