Appearance: Aili is short and underdeveloped for a Jingai of her age. She has bright white hair that falls down to her lower back, curved ram-like horns on either side of her head growing above her temples and curling in a clockwise manner before they end after one full curl, and bright brown eyes. Her skin has a supple smooth peach complexion with the exception of her hands, which are just a bit rough from working. She prefers to wear long, loose clothes and dresses that don't reveal much of her body, with long sleeves and a hemline that covers up most of her legs but leaves her calves exposed. For footwear, she wears simple socks and boots to protect her feet. While working, she'll wear a large apron that ends just below her knees.

Personality:

Aili is a very timid and withdrawn person. She lacks the confidence to approach men and she believes her body wouldn't be attractive enough for a man anyway. A victim of bullying and societal pressures, she developed a quiet nature as a result. She's shy, unconfident in her own abilities, and can be easily taken advantage of due to her trusting and naïve personality.

Her interests are not so much in fighting, but in the art of textiles and clothing. She found solace on the Jingai Archipelago by studying with her mother and working as a seamstress on one of the smaller islands in the Archipelago. She always enjoys learning about different clothing styles found around the Archipelago and experimenting with her own. Perhaps it's the only thing she will ever be good at, she feels.

History:

Aili was born on one of the smaller outside islands of the Jingai Archipelago to her mother Slafina Iba and her father Thoril Iba. Slafina was nearly 400 years old when she gave birth to Aili, Thoril was Slafina's third husband. Aili has three half-sisters, two living half-brothers, and one long deceased eldest brother. All of her siblings are adults and living on their own in the Archipelago. Though they always made their way to Slafina and Thoril's home to visit and play with Aili while she was really young.

Like all Jingai children, Aili was kept inside buildings or in her parent's gaze at all times before she learned aerokinesis. She learned it when she was about six years old. Also during this time, she began to gain an interest in her mother's practice of sewing and other work with textiles. Her interaction with her mother, with studying and practice of the craft, would help to define who she would be as she grew older.

During her teenage years, it became apparent that she was suffering from some form of delayed puberty. Since the Jingai genome is still unpredictable, it is likely due to poor luck in the genetic lottery. Her height remained relatively the same, bringing her to just barely five feet tall. Her breasts didn't begin to develop until she was fourteen and even then they didn't grow very large. And she didn't begin her menstrual cycle until she was sixteen years old. As she attended schooling, if she ever showed interest in a boy, she was often picked on, called names, and, in the worse cases, attacked by other girls her age who were easily capable of overpowering her. This is because of the Jingai attitude about relationships, it is very competitive for women and often results in this kind of display. She became withdrawn in her school years, lacking the courage to seek help and fearful of the consequences if she did.

Her only escape from the fear of bullying and her own lack of strength was her tailoring practice with her mother. She slowly began to hate the Archipelago and her own people, though didn't have the heart to leave it with her mother and father still here. She endured...

Until her mother's death. Slafina's death was untimely, caused by a heart disease that is difficult to spot because of the lack of symptoms until it is too late. Her mother was the rock that tied her to the Archipelago. And although she loved her father and siblings dearly, she still hated the Archipelago. She didn't want to be here anymore, not without her mother. Without saying a word to her family, she walked to the edge of an island, turned around and faced the Archipelago one last time, then stepped back.
