Lost Pet Kitten [MISSION]

Mission Dossier:

Miharu Katsuki, the boy who had so bravely taken the task of finding a lost kitten, would step onto the plains of Eastern Polso. A small town was in the distance to the north, with a grove of trees leading to a swamp in the east, and a vast expanse of flat grassy plains to the west. The region of Polso was known for its swampy areas and dangerous creatures.

The people of the Polsian town in the distance, going by the name of Denaria, had been in uproar due to many sightings of the lost kitten. Many had tried to find it, wanting to claim the astronomical reward for it. Frankly, it would be an understatement to say that the employer of the bubblegum-haired male was panicked.

However, he would have to meet up with her for a more in-depth report. Whatever he did now, all he would have to realize was that his mission started, now.

As the young Linzin walks about the small town where his first mission will be conducted, he immediately noticed beforehand the difference in geography to the east and west of Denaria - one a particular swampy area and the other rolling, flat plains of green. That cat could be anywhere...

That's why meeting up with the owner is the first priority. The report and background for the mission was a little too vague to go off of, so why not get it straight from the horse's mouth?

"Okay, she said she would meet in the Meeting Place of the town. And that is towards the center..." Miharu's trail of thought wanders off, leading him in a continuous path north as he catches surprises and stares of those that are not used to Linzin.

Entering the bustling and busy area, he is surprised by the amount of activity that would go on in such a small town. He keeps his view focused though, ears twitching while be searches for his client. From the report, it seems the young owner may be quite wealthy - so does that mean search for someone in a fancy dress?

"That may just be the case," the Linzin decided with a swish of his fiery tail. He continues his search around the circular marketplace, many trades and commerce being commencing here. Hmmm, maybe he should buy around here after this mission is over. Then, a sudden wail makes his cat ears perk up in attention. Steering his heterochromic eyes over, he catches onto a young woman fancied in an expensive looking dress and refined jewelry only those with high status would flash ignorantly. This has to me Ms. Mirona from the report, especially with the rivers of tears flowing down her face.

"Excuse me!" Miharu called to the Mistress, stopping with a small huff of air. "I'm Miharu Katsuki, here to find your lost kitten Kariya."

The young woman stood in the middle of the town square, eyes streaming with tears. Her breath hitched as she bawled her eyes out, the general public all watching with saddened eyes. The woman, not even 14 years of age, was currently sobbing over her kitten running away from her. "Kariya..." she breathed out letting the tears flow.

Her mother had begun enlisting the help of many citizens. However, she'd had her doubts that the people of that city were versatile enough to find her daughter's pet. A pity, really. The young mistress was sent to the town square to find anyone willing to help her. She'd been told to keep her composure.

Well... that plan went right out the window. The young girl's servant, a tall male with balding hair, stood adjacent to her. He looked a bit... awkward standing next to the comparatively small girl. He seemed to be turmoiled, shown by a look a slight dissatisfaction on his face. Though, it was probably not due to the loss of the kitten. Or maybe, one would be half-right if that was their guess.

A voice perked up, causing the male to turn. "Excuse me!" a young male Linzin stepped in front of them, stopping with a huff of air. He must've ran all the way here.

"Can we help you?" the male spoke up, eyebrow upturned. His voice was drawl, carrying along with it a bored monotone.

"I'm Miharu Katsuki, here to find your lost kitten Kariya," he'd responded. The male looked the boy up and down. He sighed a bit. Must've been some other poor sap who'd come to retrieve the reward money.

"Well, let me tell you, it will b-"

"Really?!" a small voice perked up. The male looked down to his mistress, whose tears still stained her cheeks as she looked to the pink-haired Linzin boy. "Will you really help me find my dear Kariya?" her eyes seemed to shine as she looked to the boy.

Her servant was a bit perturbed by her abject naivety. "Madame, if I may; we already have many searching for the young Kariya. It would simply not be-"

"But, none of them were good enough! I can tell!" she said. She pointed toward the Linzin. "He has magic!"

The servant looked to the male. "Magic?" he seemed to stare for a minute. Then, he sighed once more. "Ah... yes. Your sensory abilities," even if the boy held the ability to use magic, there was no guarantee that it would be effective in their search.

Her eyes turned back to the Linzin. "Will you help me?" she seemed to need reassurance. She was young, after all.

Miharu is taken aback by the Young Mistress' quick jump from sobbing tears to instant hope. It's good to get that feeling once in a while, especially in a situation like this. So what if its good pay? So what if the kitten may out there in all that danger? As long as the girl is happy, that's all there is to it!

The male Linzin's ears pokes up from hearing the old - and bored? - butler state that there were other people searching for the missing cat. Really? "Then again, I'm not surprised people would already be at it. They would be the first to hear of this reward..." the thought phases by Miharu's mind before Ms. Mirona's comment brings him back to reality.

"But, none of them were good enough! I can tell! He has magic!"

True.

"Magic? Ah... yes. Your sensory abilities," the butler coined in.

Also, true. Then again, even with a little magic here in there, the best it would do is subdue any enemies Miharu would come across. Finding a cat is another story unfortunately...

Oh, but those hopeful eyes staring back at the pink-haired boy. He honestly can't place any semblance of doubt over her head; that's the last thing she needs. Drawing out a breath from a small smile, he puts a strong grip on her shoulder.

"Don't worry, Ms. Mirona. I'll definitely find your cute kitty, Kariya! We're almost like cousins, no?" Miharu smirks, ears twitching lightly. "Now, in order to find it faster, I need to know exactly what Kariya looks like, okay?"

The young male was rewarded with a giggle from the girl after his comment on Kariya's possible relation to him. Truth be told, the girl found cats of all kinds to be cute. Creatures that were incredibly protective, as well. She could remember a time when Kariya had protected her from a Beagle. He was so brave! The canine could only flee from his wrath.

"Kari is a big, strong kitty! He's fluffy, and red, and cute!" the motions she made with her hands was to, in her mind, enhance the entire experience.

"Madame, I think what the Linzin is saying was that he needed an actual description?" the butler merely drawled in. This would earn him a slightly confused look from the girl.

"How can I be more descriptive than that?"

Miharu was almost speechless at the description, his own crimson cat ears flicking from the coincidence. Big, strong, fluffy, and red? Reminds him of a particular person... He has never really thought his mother to be cute though.

Though the young girl's imagination can't be helped.

"Do you think you can provide a few more details? I mean, those are a good forerunner so far." Miharu noted to the butler, making sure these descriptions are noted in his head as well.
